Customized Chauffeur Driven Ireland Vacations
Day 1: Waterford Castle, Waterford, Ireland
Arrive at Dublin Airport early in the morning after your transatlantic flight to Ireland. Your driver/guide will meet you at arrivals. With your driver/guide at the wheel you will be able to focus all your attention on those first sights and sounds of Ireland as you head South for Waterford. Take this time to get to know your driver and more importantly share with him your hopes and dreams for your Ireland Vacation in the days ahead. Stop in Kilkenny for lunch and a visit to Kilkenny Castle before continuing on to your first night in an Irish Castle, Waterford Castle is located on its very own island.
Day 2: Sheen Falls, Kenmare, Co. Kerry, Ireland
Leaving Waterford, take the coastal route as far as Cobh in Co. Cork. Visit the Queenstown Story Heritage Center there and learn about the massive emigration from Ireland and how Cobh was the last port of call for the Titanic. From here your driver/guide will take you on the short trip to Blarney Castle. Climb to the top of the castle to kiss the famous Blarney stone before strolling through the castle grounds. Stop into the Blarney Woolen Mills for some shopping and a spot of lunch before continuing on to Kenmare and the luxury Sheen Falls Hotel.
Day 3: Sheen Falls, Kenmare, Co. Kerry, Ireland
Today is the day for the Ring of Kerry and with your private driver/guide at the wheel you will have nothing to do, except absorb the fantastic Irish scenery unfolding before you. Stop wherever and whenever you like to further admire the spectacular view and take those all important vacation pictures to share with your friends back home. This is Ireland at its Best! Return to Kenmare and spend the evening exploring this pretty village or simply relax in the opulent surroundings of your 5* hotel.
Day 4: Adare Manor, Adare, Co. Limerick, Ireland
Leave Kenmare and travel the short distance to Killarney. Stop at Muckross House and Gardens where you can also visit Muckross Farms and nearby Ross Castle. Take a ride in a jaunting car or a stroll through the Killarney National Park. Continue on to the village of Adare and check into Adare Manor for another night of luxury in this fabulous 19th century Georgian Manor, located in one of Ireland’s prettiest villages.
Day 5: Ashford Castle, Cong, Co. Mayo, Ireland
Get an early start today and make your first stop at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Continue on to the Cliffs of Moher, truly one of Irelands most spectacular attractions. Spend some time marveling at the massive cliffs before driving through the Burren, stopping for a visit to the Aillwee Caves. Stop for lunch and shopping in Galway city before continuing on to Ashford Castle where you will enjoy a 2 night stay.
Day 6: Ashford Castle, Cong, Co. Mayo, Ireland
If you are up for another day of travel and touring you could make the trip to Rossaveal and catch the ferry to the Aran Islands. You could also go in the other direction and visit the little town of Westport at the foot of Croagh Patrick. Or you could just spend the day soaking up the beautiful surrounds of Ashford Castle, taking a cruise on the lake or a Hawk Walk through the grounds. Indulge in the 7 course dinner on offer in the fine dining restaurant at Ashford or take a stroll into the little village of Cong to meet the Irish locals over a pint.
Day 7: Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin, Ireland
Bid a fond farewell to Ashford Castle and head North back to Ireland’s Capital city. Your driver/guide will give you a tour of the city before dropping you to your centrally located hotel. You are welcome to retain this service for the remainder of your vacation but we find most people prefer to explore the city at their own pace and have no further need of their driver/guide at this point.
Day 8: Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin, Ireland
Today explore Dublin at your leisure. Be sure to visit Trinity College and the Book of Kells. You may also like to visit the Guinness Brewery or see how Irish Whiskey is made at the Jameson Distillery. Jumping aboard a hop on/hop off bus tour is a great way to get around and tour Dublin at the same time or for the very adventurous try a Viking Splash Tour. A visit to Temple Bar is a must – check out Gogarty’s pub where you will find live traditional Irish music from 1.30pm to 1.30am.
Day 9: Depart Ireland for Home
